Book Update: “Some Call It Stalking, I Call It Love”
Don’t be fooled. This sadly isn’t the finished product I hold in my hands …but it’s not soon off! It’s been a few months since I posted a brief preview of the book I’m still writing so I thought it was time for a little update
Although the general concept of the book remains the same; centred solely around my love for Miley Cyrus and the adventures I’ve embarked upon in order to make her my wife. The general aesthetic has progressed considerably. Rather than just speaking of my countless celebrity encounters and the hilarious and ridiculous events which regularly seem to occur during them; I’ve started to look into the personal issues which initially pushed me towards this alternative social life. How celebrity wasn’t necessarily a hobby, but an escape; a shield to hide away from the real world behind. I discuss in-depth through a series of chapters titled “Confessions of a paparazzo” about my time freelancing as a “pap” in the city. Talking about everything from the prejudice I first experienced when starting out, to having my images published worldwide. Swapping the classroom for a camera and my school friends for celebrities; I speak about the impact the darker side to the profession had on me. From regular kid to forcing my camera in the faces of dying celebrity’s children and being spat on by world famous stars, and then happily disregarding it as “all in a day’s work”. I also provide a “How To: Guide To Stalking” which Is packed with enough tips trick and hints to ensure you too can track down your favourite stars, and go from passive fan to groupie whore in no time!
With the books completion date looking to be around November/December, I’ve started exploring the different methods of how to share it. I’ve been in contact with a couple of literacy agents who have found the idea intriguing, but after they both stressed there’d have to be a substantial amount of changes (AKA get rid of the swearing, controversy and fun) I decided that may not be the right path to go down. The inevitable thought right now is to self-publish as an eBook through Amazon, at the bargain bucket price of something like £1.99, but if anybody has any other ideas feel free to fire them at me! I’m also considering a limited amount of actual published copies which I’d sell directly, but for this I’d need to have some kind of vague number; so whether you’re a friend, follower or absolute stranger and would be interested in this.
